5 Meaningful Ways to Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.

This coming Monday marks the birthday of one of our nation’s largest activists and change-makers in history, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The federal holiday has been honored since 1986, and with it we celebrate both his life and his lasting impact on millions of lives still today. While many have the day off to honor Martin Luther King Jr., it is important to take time to commemorate the true impact MLK leaves behind, and learn how we can continue to honor his influence in the world of education. 

We’ve compiled several videos, activities, and volunteer opportunities that will help further the themes of justice and respect that we instill in our classrooms. Here are meaningful ways that we can observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day this year:
