National School Choice Week is here!
As you can imagine, this is one of our favorite weeks of the year, ranking right up there with the first week of school and the National Charter Schools Week! Choice Schools Associates was born out of the idea that all parents should have the ability to select the school that is best for their child. Not only is “choice” the name of our organization, but “choice” is WHY we do this work. Our organization is made up of a team of educators, literacy specialists, student advocates and many other professions but first and foremost, we are moms, dads, parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts and uncles. We are just like the parents who send their children to our schools. School choice is personal for us. If we are going to make a meaningful difference in our students’ lives and normalize school choice, we must speak up. In 2021, we will be sharing resources, seeking feedback, and changing the narrative of charter schools, hoping to evolve the conversation on education.
We need your help! Just like the parents, students and staff in the video above, we need you to share your story of why you chose to work in a charter school. Tell your family how much you love your school, talk to your friends about the transformation you are seeing in your kids and continue to push the envelope for your students – they need you!
