Creative Montessori Academy’s very own Trinity Kelly is making a difference! This soon-to-be sixth-grader is donating 100 student masks for her peers. She has attended CMA since she was in preschool and has a heart for her school community. Since she started making masks in May, she has made hundreds for the downriver community!
I started making masks based on the need in our community,” Trinity explained. “I wanted to donate masks to school because I know the need for masks upon the return to school this fall. I want to make sure everyone can stay as safe as possible.”
Trinity has started selling her masks at a local store in Wyandotte called 9 Month Bump where her masks sell for $5. She has also made a variety of masks and sold them to our CMA teachers for $1 each. Many people have also requested personal orders from her! No matter where she sells her masks, she donates half the proceeds to the Wyandotte Soup Kitchen and the other half of the money is used to buy more supplies.
“I was inspired by a 4th grade CMA field trip that I took to the Wyandotte Soup Kitchen,” said Trinity. “I donate masks (to the kitchen) that they then distribute amongst our beautiful community.”
When asked about her experience at CMA, she said, “I’ve attended CMA since I was in preschool, and my school feels like a second home to me. Whenever I’m at school, I know I’m safe, learning and being formed into the best me I can.”
Trinity also loves her teachers! “I would like to send a special thank you to my teachers over the years: Ms. Myles, Mrs. Cathy, Mrs. Terrie, and my current teacher, Mrs. Smith.”
Thank you, Trinity, for all you do for our community! You are truly changing the world.
