We are so excited to announce Ashley Ogonowski as Head of School at Macomb Montessori Academy as of October 5th.
Ashley’s passion for education is sure to be contagious as she embarks on her journey at MMA!
Ashley grew up in our great lakes state of Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Communication and Sociology. Shortly after graduating, Ashley joined Teach for America (TFA) and made the decision to head to South Dakota where she taught 1st grade for three years on the Rosebud Indian Reservation.
Her passion for education inspired her to receive her Masters in Education from the University of Missouri- St. Louis just a few years later. After that, she relocated to Kansas where she became the Managing Director of Programs for TFA. While in this position, Ashley managed directors and teachers and was able to grow in the field of education. Little did she know that education was going to be her new purpose.
Upon returning to Michigan, Ashley’s passion for education grew more and more each day and she began to look for just the right fit where she could truly feel at home. We are happy to say that Ashley has found her home with us at Macomb Montessori Academy (MMA) and we are confident that her qualities of leadership will help to grow both the student and parent community at MMA.
“I am so very excited to grow the school and bring the feel of community to all that we do here. By making the school more sustainable, our students will be able to learn to their fullest potential and make incredible gains both intellectually and emotionally,” Ashley said.
