Congratulations, Ana Sosa, sophomore student at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science.

Ana is the Boys and Girls Club of Grand Rapids 2016’s “Youth of the Year!”

The program honors “the nation’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire.”

Sosa, 15, was recognized for her leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle. And thanks to her environmental background at WMAES, Ana believes in creating a healthy world as well. She wants to attend Aquinas College and has a dream to start a non-profit and help people around the world.

Sosa will receive a $2,000 scholarship provided by Lake Michigan Credit Union. She will also compete against other Boys and Girls Club members for the Michigan Youth of the Year title and a $5,000 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
