During the month of May our focus character trait was courage. Students have learned courage through of variety of experiences at our schools this month.
Creative Montessori Academy had a variety of activities take place throughout the month of May that involved courage. There was a talent show, some students learned about the courageous people of the Holocaust, and had students explain what they would do for a day if they were “bold and brave”.
Macomb Montessori Academy talked about have courage to stand up for yourself and had students make “Shields of Courage” and displayed them in the hallway.
This has been an amazing year for our new Character Choices program.
Students have experienced the traits in a variety of ways this year. Throughout the year there were guest speakers that came in and told their story of how character traits are critical within their lives, students sang songs about the traits, showed compassion by having fundraisers and clothing drives for those that needed help, sent thank you letters to those that taught them the traits, and told us their amazing stories with the new Character Choices Expression Contest. We are looking forward to our second year with this new program!
