This month, we’re excited to recognize Meghan Bryant, a Special Education teacher at Creative Montessori Academy, as our newest Choice Champion. This initiative celebrates staff who go above and beyond their everyday tasks, nominated by their peers for their extraordinary talents they bring every day to their school environments. With nearly two decades at CMA, Meghan has built a career grounded in consistency, compassion, and meeting students exactly where they are.
Meghan began working in education in 2003 and joined the CMA community in 2007 after earning her Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. From the moment she toured the school, she felt something special. “I was amazed at how calm and peaceful the classrooms were and how inviting the staff was,” she shared. That first impression, paired with the Montessori philosophy, continues to shape her work today. “I love each piece of the Montessori philosophy, from meeting every child’s individual needs to curiosity and peace education.”
At the heart of Meghan’s work are the everyday moments that make a lasting impact. Rather than one defining experience, it is the steady progress and small celebrations that remind her why she chose this path. “Each day there are student moments and celebrations, no matter the size, that remind me of why I would not be doing anything else,” she said.
Over the years, Meghan has seen the powerful role CMA plays in students’ lives. Many families remain part of the school community from early childhood through eighth grade, allowing students to grow with confidence and pride in their learning. She also values the school’s strong sense of collaboration and outreach, in which teachers, staff, and families work together to support students and the broader community.
“My students and our team help me remember joy, determination, curiosity, appreciation, and kindness, including kindness to ourselves,” she shared. “Those values are reflected throughout CMA, a diverse and welcoming community that offers a Montessori education rooted in trust, accessibility, and a shared commitment to students.”
Meghan takes pride in being a steady and encouraging presence for her students. “I’m proud that I’m able to be a consistent person for the students I work with and to see their growth each day,” she said. Whether through a smile in the hallway, a high five, or words of encouragement, she helps create an environment where students feel supported and valued.
Those who work alongside Meghan see her impact firsthand, sharing, “Meghan’s dedication to her students is truly exceptional. She is a tireless advocate who goes above and beyond to ensure every student’s needs are met, always stepping in to help wherever needed. With an incredible attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a genuine willingness to listen to students, families, and staff, she consistently works toward the best outcomes for all.”
Thank you, Ms. Bryant, for your dedication to your students and your school community. You truly embody what it means to be a Choice Champion, and we are grateful for the difference you make every day.
