Four Corners’ Peace Quilts

On September 21, Four Corners Montessori Academy celebrated International Peace Day by making quilts. They gave each student a fabric square to decorate and illustrate what peace means to them. The squares were collected and a parent and her mother have spent the past year putting them together to create two quilts for us… and now they are complete! Thank you to each student who decorated a square. These beautiful quilts can be found hanging in the school. FCMA would like to extend a special thank you to Misty Wills and her mother, Donna Walaszek, for sewing them. The FCMA families and staff appreciate your hard work!

What better way to bring another school year to a close than with a quilt reminding us of our wonderful, peace-minded community.

International Peace Day is observed around the world on September 21 each year. It’s a day “devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples,” according to the United Nations’ website
