Sarah Maurer

Sarah Maurer has a deep love of learning and using that learning to better the lives of those around her. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education with minors in Biology and Earth Science from Michigan State University. She continued her education at Oakland University, where she earned a master’s in reading, with additional endorsements in early childhood and as a reading specialist.

Sarah taught a variety of ages and stages before leaving the classroom to stay home with her children. In 2018, she returned to the classroom as a second-grade teacher at Kingsbury Country Day School, where her children attended school. Sarah is looking forward to exercising different areas of her brain in her new role as the State and Federal Grant Specialist with Choice Schools.

Sarah lives in Metamora with her husband, Steve; daughter, Maggie; and son, Elias. They have a persnickety orange cat named Petey, a stoic yet friendly leopard gecko named Albus, and three little fish called Domino, Hans, and Bolt.
