In a World Where You Can be Anything, be Kind.

Kindness binds us. It is the quality of being friendly, generous and considerate. It is a fundamental part of the human condition which bridges the divides of race, religion, politics, gender and zip codes.

At Battle Creek Montessori Academy, teachers and staff wanted students to understand the importance of kindness. They took it to another level by creating a large sign where you would put your physical self in the placement of the letter I in the word kind. See the pictures below.

“Very few days encompass all that we try to teach more than World Kindness Day,” Jes Eldridge, Head of School at BCMA said. “By creating this fun activity with the kids, they were able to use their whole body to see the importance of being kind to one another.”

The impact that this activity had on the students and staff was alarming. Students were able to articulate what makes someone kind and what they have done to show kindness. They were also able to talk about good things that the community have done

Ms. Jes Eldridge

Being kind makes us all happy. It makes us smile. As a Montessori school, it is our duty to understand and show kindness every single day.
