The holiday season is my favorite time of year. Yes, the gatherings, traditions, and cheer all add to the joy of the holidays. But my favorite part is the reflection that comes with the end of one year and the pending start of a new one. This is the time of year when I reflect on my blessings and realign my current reality to my hopes for the future.
2023 was a special year for Choice Schools as we celebrated our 25th anniversary. My Dad started Choice Schools in 1998 with the fundamental belief that all students deserve a shot at the American Dream and a first-class education. While some today may argue the merit of the American Dream, I know that Dad’s dream of all kids receiving a stellar education is alive and well. I have the gift of time (and age) to remember what Choice Schools was like 22 of those 25 years ago. Honestly, I’m moved to tears by how far we have come. I’m overwhelmed by the remarkable people who have made us who we are today. Countless people have strengthened us, encouraged us, stood by our side, and given their all to make our schools great places to learn and work. Thank you for being part of who we are and who we are becoming.
As we head into the new year, I cannot wait to see what the next 25 years hold for our organization. We are indeed just getting started.
