School Spotlight : Bradford Academy

Bradford Academy is the largest school managed by Choice Schools, with more than 1,500 pre-K through 12 students in Southfield, Michigan. Here are some recent activities that have happened or are happening at Bradford Academy!

Southfield’s Bradford Academy student groups perform at Michigan Capitol during National School Choice Week

Bradford Academy was among five total schools, and 150 students from around the state, to be invited to perform at the Michigan Capitol on Jan. 27 to show off students’ talents as a part of the National School Choice Week celebration.

Bradford’s glee club and step team performed for an audience of teachers, National School Choice Week supporters and government workers in Capitol’s rotunda. Accompanied by Bradford Academy’s music teacher Laura LoDuca, the glee club performed hits like “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and received an enthusiastic applause.Bradford-Academy-Academic-Games-Photo_blog

Bradford Academy academic games students end season on a positive note 

It’s been a great year for Bradford Academy’s academic games team, winning a total of 10 trophies this year. The team won second place for its division at the regional and state tournaments.

Beautiful artwork dots the Bradford Academy halls

When walking through the halls of Bradford Academy, you’ll not only see the smiling faces of young students but beautiful artwork they’ve created displayed on walls. Art classes at Bradford, such as Ms. Frye’s class, encourage students to use their talents and be creative. One of the most recent displays featured inspiring Black History Month pieces.

Bradford Academy Golf Outing is planned for spring

Bradford Academy is planning an upcoming golf outing for this spring to support Bradford Academy’s golf team, with the date to be determined. This will be the second outing Bradford has hosted. Proceeds will help pay for the Bradford Academy golf team’s expenses, such as course fees, range fees, uniforms and coaches’ salaries. Be on the lookout for more information to come!
