At Choice Schools we recognize the importance of Black History Month and believe that the accomplishments of African Americans and their role in US history should be learned about and celebrated all year long. Check out some of the awesome projects, speakers and presentations our schools have had this month.

New Branches Charter Academy had a visit from Dr. Ben Carson, former pediatric neurosurgeon and professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. At West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science, students created art pieces inspired by Alma Thomas, the first African-American woman to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
