Our Experience at the National Charter School Conference in Austin, TX

In the vibrant heart of Austin, Texas, two team members journeyed to the annual National Charter School Conference to learn about innovations in the charter school sector. Kerri Barrett, the superintendent of the Montessori Model, and Sara Mooney, the Chief People and Partnerships Officer, attended the conference along with thousands of other charter school supporters, teachers, board members, and advocators.

The event included thought-provoking sessions, collaborative discussions, and dynamic networking opportunities.

In terms of learning from other charter networks, Kerri shared, “I appreciated how open and willing people were in sharing their ideas. The charter school sector is approaching education differently, and I am honored to attend such a prestigious conference with so many bright educators.”

The conference not only provided a platform to share our insights but also opened doors to fresh perspectives and groundbreaking approaches that are shaping the landscape of education nationwide.

Sara shared, “I really appreciated the networking. After a full day of sessions, the conversation continued at dinner with idea generation and support. It was really cool to experience such an open-minded group of people who wanted to make a difference.”

Kerri and Sara were also joined by board members from Four Corners Montessori Academy and Dove Academy, who shared the same sentiment.
