We are thrilled to welcome Matt Bazen to Choice Schools as the Chief Human Resources Officer. As the CHRO, Matt will spearhead all HR-related functions, ensuring strategic oversight and effective management across our organization’s human resources initiatives. With over 12 years of experience at National Heritage Academies (NHA), Matt has held diverse roles in Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, and, most recently, Director of the HR Business Partner Team. In his latest capacity, he focused on staffing, retention, and engagement across NHA’s network of 100 schools. Prior to NHA, he gained valuable experience through roles at Wolverine Worldwide, J.W. Marriott Hotel, and Spectrum Health. He holds a management degree from Grand Valley State University and earned his MBA at Western Michigan University. Additionally, he teaches a management class at GVSU, a role he’s enjoyed since 2018.
Outside of work, his family enjoys spending time near the water or at the beach, engaging in activities like boating, paddleboarding, and simply relaxing shoreside. As a hockey-loving clan, he also cherishes time on the ice.
